On me: cardigan, jeans, tank and heels Photo: Agnes Wonke-Toth Photography This is the finale set of photos with the fabulous Agnes! It was great fun running around London, posing in a public art gallery and shamelessly blocking a bridge to take several shots. (Hey, at least we got Big Ben in the photo) Weirdly enough, this outfit was inspired by minimalism which was sought to be a fun contrast in the all black trend thats been going on lately. As usual I had to throw some Brandy Melville goodness in. I swear I wear this tank so often it's become a staple. I've also been digging these heels my friend Anna showed me in Germany! It looked so similar to a different pair of heels I was going to purchase, that I felt lucky for saving some extra cash for a delish dinner the night after. If you couldn't tell my thug side was pretty much hidden as this outfit wasn't considerate "thug enough", hence the "sad pout?". Not too sure on what I would call this facial expression, except that I'm not too ecstatic about this arangement. Ps: If you couldn't find it, Big Ben is in the last photo. Just a hint to those peeps ;) komorebi(n.): Sunlight that filters through the leaves of the trees Xo Charmyn |

On me: snapback via Obey (similar), tank via Munich, skirt via Zara (buy here) & shoes via New Yorker Photo: Agnes Wonke-Toth Photography I've had my fair share of travel influences but lately I've been wearing (attempting actually) snapbacks more frequently. Something about the way hats add an edge to any outfit appeals to me, in a sense that I dare make a fool of myself every time I put one on. How they cover up any bad hair day seems to be another reason I use to convince myself snapbacks are a worthy investment. It's pretty ironic really... Honestly, we all should have known my thug side would eventually come out. It was only a matter of time... Hence the new hat. Cameo has been a huge obsession of mine so naturally this was a perfect fit. Aside from my variety in hats (rookie in the making), so does my every day outfit opportunities (seen here), (here) and (here). You could tell I was channelling my inner Cara in this shoot, which explains the not so awkward face I'm making in one of the shots. Another London influence perhaps? I'll never know. What is certain though, is that a cup of hot chocolate is waiting for me, along with several photos to edit. Until next time lovelies! komorebi(n.): Sunlight that filters through the leaves of the trees Xo Charmyn |

Living in a State of Dreaming

On me: tank + skirt (similar here) via Topshop Photo: Agnes Wonke-Toth Photography London has to be one of my favourite places I've travelled to so far. Perhaps it's because of the friends I met there or perhaps the new experiences that I find so intriguing. Or it could be the difference in boldness compared to where I live. Living in Canada, being fashionable was donning Uggs over Doc's, sweats over skinnies, cringe worthy tanks (e.g "yolo" & "like a boss") and anything demure and mentally frustrating. No i'm not against simplicity, but what confuses me is when I hear the same sentence over and over of not wanting to "dress up" because "comfort is better than style". In this modern age i'm sure we can both agree comfort & style is possible. I'll miss you London and the girl who wore her Jeffrey Campbell's in the supermarket. Looking back I realize I've never been one to appreciate scenery. Instead I would run into the nearest food facility and take my precious time selecting what snacks to buy. However coming round for a second glance was utterly breath taking. I noticed a change in everything. The regal air and urban sophistication that every Londoner seemed to carry and the relaxed vibe locations had. That's what I love about London, imagination never seems to sleep there! komorebi(n.): Sunlight that filters through the leaves of the trees Xo Charmyn PS: Here's a song I've grown quite attached to recently. Ironically it's of the London band Two Door Cinema Cub. Regardless of their roots I can't wait to hear them live in Vancouver! |
